The new YAS-480 is the ideal 'step up' instrument for players who are looking to advance to the higher grade exams or that simply want to buy an instrument that will grow with them as a player. The annealed crook ( a hardening process ) reduces sound loss through the crook which results in a greater focus in the sound of the instrument as well as improved stability of tone and tuning. The 'new' features include a new octave mechanism which allows the use of Custom crooks, an improved low B & C# connection and the atrractive hand engraving on the bell section.
